40 Under 40 Champions


Normal, Alabama, November 1, 2019 -- The Alabama A&M University National Alumni Association, Inc. is now accepting applications for their inaugural class of 40 Under 40 Champions.  40 Under 40 Champions will highlight a younger generation of Alabama A&M University graduates who have made significant strides in education, community service and various professional disciplines all over the country while supporting the Association. 


The 40 Under 40 Champions program was established by an approval vote of the Association's Board of Directors. The Association has elected to introduce our inaugural class of 40 Under 40 Champions during the 2020 Biennial Conference. The conference will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, July 9-12, 2020. Under 40 award winners will be honored at the Gala Finale, in addition to being featured in the conference souvenir program booklet, the Association's various media platforms, website and released to news and media outlets.


The following criteria will be considered when evaluating candidates for the inaugural 40 Under 40 Champions: 


-The candidate has made significant contributions to their respective professional disciplines, communities, and/or Alabama A&M University or its Alumni Association. 

- The candidate must have received an undergraduate or graduate degree from Alabama A&M University prior to nomination.

-The candidate must not have reached their 40th birthday by December 31, 2019.

-The candidate must be an active member of the Alabama A&M University National Alumni Association, Inc. and/or one of its chapter affiliates.


People from all backgrounds and affiliations—employers, colleagues, alumni, community leaders, family members and friends—who can adequately highlight the candidate's qualifications and contributions are encouraged to submit nominations. Self-nominations are allowed.


Applications will be accepted electronically only at until December 31, 2019.  No late applications will be accepted for any reason. Verification of age and earned degree will be required if selected.   All decisions are final. Selected candidates will be required to give or raise a minimum financial contribution which will support 40 Under 40 Champion festivities, 2020 Biennial Conference registration and Alabama A&M University National Alumni Association, Inc. scholarships.  Successful candidates must be present to accept the award on July 11, 2020.


The mission of Alabama A&M University National Alumni Association Inc., is to garner and galvanize support for Alabama A&M University in ways that are compatible with the objectives of the University. Our intent is to ensure that Alabama A&M University remains a center of substance and excellence.
